Job Description
Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and implementing the Human Resources programs and policies. Coordinate recruitment, hiring and orientation process prepare job descriptions may participate in panel interviews and selection process Maintain legal compliance in employee personnel actions such as hires, promotions, demotions and terminations Administer employee benefits program conduct enrollments coordinate changes with Payroll Oversee workers compensation program correspond with insurance carriers, administer claims Coordinate and update as necessary the Illness and Injury Prevention Program Maintain, update and write personnel policies update the HR as needed Advise management and staff on personnel and safety issues Administer employee leaves assist employees with leave requests and leave with disability benefits Monitor employee time off, medical provider notes, etc and advise departments of employees status Conduct investigations as necessary and recommend appropriate action to the Executive Director Attend EDD hearings, and other meetings as directed Conduct meetings with Union representatives and staff to negotiate and reach contract agreements Complete Equal Employment Opportunity reports Participate in community activities as a company representative Work closely with vendors, brokers, and other community partners. Skills Required
5+ years of experience in the human resources field including 2 years management experience in a human resource department Knowledge of labor laws.
Skills Preferred
BA. degree in Human Resources, or Social Sciences. HR experience in a union environment HR experience in a non-profit environment
