Job Description Maintains positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff of client matters. This position expects the paralegal know calendaring for Trust and Estate Law and ability to problem solve creatively with little or no supervision. Responsible for providing accurate, concise, ethical, and timely work to their supervising attorney and their clients. Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, trials and closings. Perform legal research and gather relevant information pertaining to the case or matter. Participate in client interviews and meetings. Draft legal documents to include correspondence, pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, certifications, contracts and briefs. Attend trials, depositions, will executions, real estate closings and court or administrative hearings. Must have time management skill set to include flexibility within the work day. Organizing and managing files, documents and exhibits. Filing documents with federal and state courts. Duties will vary based on assigned practice group. Work in a team environment providing support to fellow paralegals and professional assistants doing both billable and non-billable tasks. Perform special projects for attorneys. Must be able to prioritize and respond in a quick and efficient matter, use initiative and judgment to minimize the effect in a lawyers absence, and refer matters to appropriate delegated authority. Skills Required HS Diploma or GED. Certified Paralegal Certificate. 2+ yrs exp working in Trust, Estate or Probate Law. Organized and able to handle complex calendaring deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. | |
Skills Preferred AA Degree in Paralegal Studies preferred. Knowledge of Civil Rules of Procedure. |
