Job Description The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the revenue recognition, internal control processes, compliance with internal and external regulations and management reporting. Prepares and enters journal entries. Records and verifies cost of goods sold percentages, percentage of cost completion and cost type fee rates in support of month end close procedures. This requires coordination of EAC submission with Program Control group. Reviews ASC 606 checklist and works with the Contracts department to resolve any issues delaying revenue recognition determination. Works with Corporate to get guidance pertaining to unusual contract terms and conditions as necessary. Assists with review of monthly account reconciliations. Reviews and approves employees expense reports. Manages monthly reserve schedule, which includes inventory reserves, disallowance reserves, warranty reserves, environmental reserves, contract reserves, period costs reserves and bad debt reserves. Coordinates and reviews quarterly variance explanations for income statement and balance sheet. Supports activities in the preparation of annual surveys from corporate offices. Supports preparation and submission of quarterly and annual audit and tax packs. Interacts with internal and external auditors in support of SOX, Government Compliance, and other audits. Assists, as required, in special projects to improve overall efficiency, eliminating process waste and improving company profitability. Prepares annual incurred cost proposal. Skills Required BA Degree in Accounting, Bus Admin or Economics. 10+ yrs exp in accounting. Exp with government accounting. Understanding of GAAP, financial statements and reporting. US Citizen. | |
Skills Preferred Exp using Deltek CostPoint, TM1, and OneStream. Familiar with FAR and CAS regulations. Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition. |
